Book release and signing party
Celebrate the release of Billy Lombardo's new award-winning book, The Logic of a Rose Chicago Stories. Come to the reading, signing, and party with musical guest Dan Darrah on Friday, May 20, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Latin School of Chicago, 59 W. North Blvd., Chicago, IL. Reading by Billy will be at 7:00 p.m. in Latin's Wrigley Theatre. Read an excerpt from The Logic of a Rose Chicago Stories.

Fiction Workshop
In July, 2005, Billy will teach a Fiction Workshop in Chicago, IL as part of The Latin School of Chicago's Live & Learn program. The workshop will cover the gamut from generating story ideas to a discussion on publication. You'll also discuss "reading as writers;" cover everything from diction to syntax, to rhythm, characterization, setting, and dialogue; explore point of view, conflict, significant detail, showing and telling.

Each session will include a voluntary "workshopping" segment, in which participants will workshop anonymous participant excerpts for others to critique. The lab fee will cover a line-by-line edit, by the instructor, of a ten page story or selection. Line-by-line edits of additional stories can be arranged with the instructor.
